Has anyone noticed the JW movies are trying to normalise their lifestyle?
by truthseeker inhaving watched the prodigal son returns movie produced by the organization and a recent mini-clip of a brother in london who is shown jogging and doing normal everyday things while wanting to "reach out" it occurred to me that the organization is trying to normalize their bizarre lifestyle and beliefs for the benefit of non-witnesses.. what do i mean by normalization?
they try to make the witnesses look like just another christian denomination who are reasonable while their members live and enjoy normal lives that appear to be within the mainstream.. they do this by not mentioning anything to do with higher education, armageddon or the urgency of the end of the world nor is their discussion or mention of the blood issue.
these are things mentioned often at kingdom halls and in study articles.. watching the prodigal son returns, the family appears to live a normal life, going to meetings and studying.

I think you missed the point of the London/jogging clip. He was spending too much time excercising, and was not appointed a MS at first. -

Governing body member engaged... Again!
by OneDayillBeFree injust found out that the australian governong body member known as geoffrey jackson got engaged to a sister about two weeks ago.
it really shocked me at first but then i remembered how other members of the gb have remarried in the past like daniel sidlik.
what made me say "woah" was hearing that the holy bride to be is really young!

It is only a girl that took a picture(photo) with him....It SEEMS, but she is not Rae!
Finally! That picture and rumor have been passed around long enough and nobody can tell that the young girl with him in that older pic is not his wife but just a photo op. That's why he looked uncomfortable. Glad SOMEBODY has eyes. -

The branch office charges the congregations $40 a piece for the carts, (and they're only available in 2's), so 39 carts cost them around $1,500 dollars. Just saying. -

genuine english guy seeking jw lady
by english_gentleman inhi, i believe that a lady is put on earth to satisfy the needs of her partner and respect his views in all matters.. i realize some here may consider that old fashioned and not based on sexual equality.. yet a lady and man are not created equal because the lady gives birth and the man must sire many children.
if you are a lady under 30 and keen to meet me, willing to cook and breed, then please message me here.
please do not contact me if you disagree with my views, we can agree to differ.

This is like when people get outraged of a story from The Onion. Of course it's satire! 😂 -

the Governing Body - a legal entity?
by neat blue dog ini know the gb used to be one and the same as the board of directors of the wtb&ts, they made a differentiation in the '70s, and then in 2001 they completely split, all gb members resigning their corporate positions.
but my question is, is the governing body itself a legally recognized entity?
the reason i ask is because of a questionnaire document leaked in a recent thread.

In the fine print disclaimer, it says in part:
I understand that the transfer of my personal data to the . . . ecclesiastical Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses (the “Governing Body”) in the State of New York, United
States of America, may be necessary.Any thoughts?

Reminds me of AMIII talking about leotards but accidentally calling them Spanx, a brand name of underwear. -

What TV shows were forbidden in your JW household?
by Funchback inin the u.s., three's company was not allowed.
it was explained to me that it was an immoral show because a man and women lived together and no one was married.
the sister who gave this observation was a family friend and we were newbies to the religion.. at least i somehow managed to watch the benny hill show undetected..

I remember Happy Days being included in an assembly talk way back when as an example of wholesome entertainment, go figure.
Anyways, in my family, Disney fairy tale films, Star Wars, most children's films with a hint of 'badness' in it . . . the list goes on and on without consistency. The point is if it was something that the adults liked and it was 'bad', than it was aok. For instance, numerous PG-13 and even R rated movies watched with me and other young ones in the family. And that was okay because they chose it. 😲
